  • Overview

    • The Plant Maintenance & Project Leader is responsible to support for all operations of a Maintenance department, responsible to develop and execution of PM Pillar program (BDA, CMMS, SRC, 5S, Lubrication, Stock Room and others), Inside and capital Projects, Team development and continuous improvement. Major duties include: Developing and refining on preventive maintenance programs, Projects execution, managing plant modernization and expansion projects, TPM – PM Pillar requirements, compliance with state and federal regulations, and improving equipment availability and reliability, equipment health, employee safety, maximizing machine productivity and reliability as well as the condition and upkeep of the facility.

    Responsibilities

    Basic Responsibilities

    •        Organize, Sustain and Support the production machinery and equipment, physical plant, utilities, stock room, shop and building areas
    •        Support the Total Planned Maintenance program to continually improve the availability and reliability of the plant's processes and equipment.
    •        Maintain and support the operation and maintenance of the plant's hot water, chill water, compressed air, water, water treatment, telephone communications, HVAC, and electrical systems to provide uninterrupted service
    •        Support plant maintenance specialists and other plant employees maintain TC-Transcontinental’s high safety standards. Conducts weekly safety inspections of the facility and schedules corrective action for deficiencies.
    •        Ensures the physical plant, grounds, production machinery and equipment, and utilities are maintained in accordance with all applicable federal and state regulations and TC-Transcontinental’s standards
    •        Evaluates long-term equipment, mechanical maintenance, and engineering needs. Proposes major projects and develops a five-year implementation plan.
    •       Support plans and implements engineering solutions to improve the reliability and availability of the plant's equipment. Responsible for equipment layouts and all modifications within the facility
    •        Develops, implements, and regularly reviews the plant's maintenance logs. Develops and implements a plant computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
    •        Manages drawings, equipment records, recommended repair parts lists, and other maintenance technical documents.
    •        Develops and implements standard maintenance procedures for all maintenance tasks. Trains and/or coordinates training for the plant maintenance specialists. Training includes, but is not limited to, maintenance topics, hazard communication, process safety management, equal employment opportunity, sexual harassment, and safety
    •        Implement, manage and lead a preventative & predictive maintenance/process reliability as part of the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program
    •        Implement, manage, and support a CMMS and MRO system
    •        Development and improvement of the company-wide LOTO Safety program in conjunction with the EH&S Professional
    •        Encourage innovation among technicians within the department
    •        Participates and/or leads initiatives for capital projects and problem-solving activities
    •        Supporting, maintaining, and improving processes associated with the computerized maintenance management system for process reliability, Stock room, Shop, and all maintenance areas

     

     

    Specific Duties

           Develop the TPM -PM Pillar program and apply 5s of all maintenance areas.

           Drive and support all inside and Capital projects

           Enforces all plant policies and procedures

           Enforces all plant and department safety rules

           Conducts hourly reviews of machine performance ensuring barriers are identified if machines are not running to standard.

           Cover and support when needed the Stock Room management and Maintenance Supervisor responsibilities

     

     

    Qualifications

           Minimum Engineering Associates degree or 8 years of industrial maintenance experience in the converting industry

           Formal or industrial training on preventive and planned maintenance systems and methods

           Industrial facility maintenance experience. Formal or industrial training on State Department of Labor, Federal OSHA, and EPA regulations and requirements

           Associate degree in Reliability, Industrial, Electrical &/or Mechanical Engineering

           Five (5) years’ experience as a key maintenance leader in Industrial manufacturing facility

           Experience with Equipment performance and reliability metrics such as OEE, MTBF, and MTTR

           Experience in supporting equipment health through the implementation of PM, PdM, and CBM maintenance programs

           CMMS/EAM system experience

           MRO and vendor management experience

           Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite

           Ability to motivate, engage and develop strong team-based relationships

           Previous experience with project management, to include capital projects

           Excellent written and verbal communication skills

           Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and PLC programming/troubleshooting

           Strong analytical, planning, organizational and time management skills

           Proven ability to drive results to achieve financial goals

           Experience with LEAN manufacturing processes with a focus on implementation and management of a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program
