    About this opportunity

    The position of Maintenance Technician is primarily responsible for safe and efficient creation of new equipment or repair to old equipment, utilizing a broad range of maintenance knowledge (electrical systems, mechanical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic, PLCs, and robotics). They also must be functional in the electrical and control aspects of maintenance. Duties include ensuring that maintenance orders are read properly, ensure all raw materials and tools are available, perform preventive maintenance, and properly store all tools, waste, and unused materials, and follow all quality check requirements/ISO procedures.

    Responsibilities

    • Completes the applicable machine center Master Cleaning schedule(s), checklist(s), and audit(s).
    • Responsible for the completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned and in a timely manner.  
    • Works within expense limits established.  
    • Maintains inventory controls for cost effective operations.
    • Schedules and completes the "Preventative Maintenance Program."  
    • Coordinates special projects as directed by plant leadership.  
    • Assists in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors.  
    • Responsible for 24-hour emergency maintenance service as scheduled.  
    • Carries pager/cell phone as required for on-call maintenance.  
    • Monitors and maintains all building systems as assigned.
    • Alerts management of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that has taken place or that may occur.
    • Maintains a professional courteous manner with all personnel (customers, suppliers, contractors, and fellow employees).  
    • Assures safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, City, State and Federal guidelines.
    • Ensures compliance of all work-related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner.
    • Follows established company policies and those outlined in the Employee Guidebook.
    • Performs all work in compliance with applicable building and electrical codes.
    • Executes special projects and other responsibilities as may be determined.

    Qualifications

    • Excellent and demonstrable (either through degree program or relevant work experience) mechanical/electrical comprehension/ability including ability to be self-sufficient in trouble shooting electrical and controls issues.
    • Familiarity with engineering science and technology, including application of principles, techniques, procedures and equipment to the design and production of various goods.
    • Must be a licensed electrician or journeyman with a current registration.
    • Good organizational skills.
    • Good physical shape for motor controls.
    • Good hand/eye coordination.
    • Good housekeeping skills a must.
    • Self-motivator; ability to work with limited supervision.
    • Must be able to work any and all shifts as assigned, including rotating shifts.
