    The Challenge:  As a key member of the Tomah Plant Leadership Team, the Process Engineer will be expected to manage all elements of the TC Transcontinental Performance System.  These elements include working closely with the Plant Manager and Pillar Leads on managing continuous improvement activities, leading continuous improvement teams, and analyzing data to create new opportunities and to ensure continuous improvement success is quantified.  They will have an impact on plant performance, improving manufacturing and quality metrics.  This role will also be required to work closely with all departments within the facility to develop, implement, maintain, and evaluate effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions. 

     

    The Process Engineer position requires effective decision-making, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with focus not only on customer requirements but on the company’s interests as well, and the ability to work harmoniously and cooperatively with team members.

    Responsibilities

    The Opportunity: The Process Engineer is an integral member of the plant Leadership Team and is responsible for high level service to all TC Transcontinental internal and external customers. This person must be highly professional with strong communication, leadership, analytical and technical skills with extensive manufacturing experience. TC Transcontinental is currently looking for a candidate that can lead our TC Transcontinental Performance System in the following areas:

    • Treating all internal and external customers with kindness, dignity, and respect.
    • Managing goal setting to ensure BU and plant goals are aligned and achieve targets
    • Driving continuous improvements that help support and deliver in plant performance metrics
    • Participating in plant performance review meetings and communicates status of all continuous improvement projects
    • Conducting weekly CPS Pillar Team meetings
    • Enforcing all plant policies and procedures and all plant and department safety rules
    • Auditing quality, safety, and environmental housekeeping procedures
    • Clearly defining when continuous improvement projects will be concluded and decides which projects will meet plant goals and objectives
    • Ensuring all employees are involved in continuous improvement projects – 100% engagement
    • Coaching and mentoring employees in all of the CPS Pillar Teams
    • Acting as a change agent to ignite and nurture cultural transformation
    • Maintaining training materials and data as needed
    • Providing additional support to the facility as needed

    Qualifications

    Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical manufacturing or business related field
    • Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant work experience
      • Plant-based manufacturing experience required
      • Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement experience required – Black Belt preferred
    • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
    • Possess good leadership, communication and teamwork skills
    • Proven ability to lead, coach, mentor and influence others
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision, meet deadlines and handle a wide variety of responsibilities
    • Change agent and champion of continuous improvement processes
    • Willingness to Travel - must be able to visit customers, suppliers, and other facilities as needed
    • Must have ability to operate PC-based statistical software (Microsoft Office, Minitab, Infinity QS etc.)
    • Food Safety experience a plus
