    This position will be part of the Corporate Payroll Team at our Shared Service Center in Greenville, South Carolina. As part of the corporate payroll team, you will join a team of professionals that are eager to take action and innovate.
        



    TC Transcontinental is currently looking for a Senior Payroll Analyst. This position will effectively process and analyze multi-state U.S. payroll data for exempt and non-exempt employees. They will prepare and analyze reports, perform system imports/exports and work closely with colleagues to ensure all deadlines are met with accuracy. They will be professional, organized, deadline driven and have strong attention to detail, while maintaining a confidential work environment.


     


    The Senior Payroll Analyst must have in depth knowledge of payroll wage and hour laws, federal, state, local tax laws as well as familiarity with all types of pre and post-tax benefits, 401K plans, and HSA. They will be responsible for auditing and validating data in both the payroll and time keeping systems, identifying, and implementing payroll workflows and efficiencies while maintaining best payroll practices, completing projects, and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the payroll operation. In addition, this person will be responsible for some payroll accounting to include including month end journal entries and account reconciliation for all payroll and tax balance sheet accounts.

    Responsibilities


    • Payroll Processing – process payroll cycles for exempt and non-exempt employees in a multi-state environment including validating changes and performing pre and post audits; follow payroll checklist and verify all steps are completed each pay period; provide customer service to internal and external customers; investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and perform system related changes; perform quarterly and year end audits; Create on-demand checks and ACHs for terminations and off-cycle payments.

    • Review/audit time and attendance data; import data to payroll system for payroll processing and work with employees, managers, and HR to investigate and resolve any issues; perform system updates/changes as assigned (including vacation balance adjustments).

    • Report Preparation and Analysis – Prepare reports using HR/PR or Time and Attendance system; Analysis and reporting to identify widespread payroll issues, presenting findings, and solution to payroll manager.

    • Process journal entries post processing; payroll account reconciliations including HSA & 401K.

    • 401K Administration: Process weekly file to Transamerica for 401k Funding; complete retirement contribution updates; provide Transamerica cash flow reports to accounting; respond to loan monitoring reports for Transamerica.

    • Process weekly imports and exports to vendors including BSwift and HSA Bank – to update/records employee file changes and communicate updates with vendor.

    • Garnishments – Process garnishments, child support and tax levies for all employees.

    • Manage workflow and updates for ADP Employee Self Service.

    • Performs and assists with the internal and external audits; Ensure only authorized forms/information and controls for Policies and Procedures requirements are used to input/process through HR/Payroll.

    • Works cross functionally with Accounting, HR and other departments as well as interact with employees, clients, vendors, to ensure proper and accurate payroll processing.

    • Review/respond to both internal/external customer service inquiries.

    • Work on miscellaneous projects/assignments as needed including upgrades and implementations.

    • Ensure all schedules/deadlines established to process payroll or complete special projects are adhered to consistently.

    • Accurately and clearly document payroll standard operating procedures; Maintain documentation for cross training.

    • Work closely with colleagues to enable cross training within the department; Mentor/Train new payroll analysts who join the department.

    • Maintain confidentiality of all employee information

    Qualifications


    • Minimum 8 -10 years of payroll experience.

    • High School Degree required; BA/BS or Associates Degree preferred; Training in payroll processing and automated payroll systems preferred

    • Payroll Software Experience preferred: ADP EV5 or WFN

    • Time and Attendance Software Experience preferred: Kronos or ADP eTime

    • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws regarding wage taxation and payment laws.

    • Proficiency with MS Excel (V-lookup, Formulas, pivot table), Word and Power Point.

    • Multi-state experience a plus; Report writing experience a plus.

    • Excellent attention to detail while meeting strict deadlines.

    • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Ability to effectively manage time with a sense of urgency.

    • Ability to prioritize work load and work independently.

    • Demonstrated ability to process information both timely and accurately.

    • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

    • Collaborative and customer service work style that works throughout the organization.

    • Demonstrated understanding of auditing/reviewing techniques.
