    TC Transcontinental, Spartanburg, SC facility, has an immediate opening for a Shift Leadman for our 2nd shift plastic value stream.

    The Shift Leadmans responsibilities will be to ensure the manufacturing process is running safely with efficient service that meets the expectations and needs of our customers. This position’s core responsibility will be performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability through the implementation of effective methods, strategies and participates in continuous improvement team activities.


    • Provide hands on, plant floor, technical support and leadership in converting manufacturing, plans work assignments, ensures quality production and maximum efficiencies, supports the Value Stream Leader in all areas needed to improve and maximize shift performance, recommends improvements in production methods, and participates in team activities.
    • Foster continuous improvement environment with focus on safety, housekeeping, quality, waste & production efficiency.
    • Lead shift performance through participation and provide communication to associates on all levels.
    • Provide hands on technical support and coaching and counseling to the production operators and crew members.
    • Assist direct production crews as needed to ensure quality, waste, and throughput goals are met.



    • HSD or GED required.
    • Prior experience as a shift lead/supervisor, operator, adjustor, or maintenance technician with proven track record of problem solving and sound decision making.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
    • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
    • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
    • Computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operations manual, and written directions.
    • Ability to write reports
    • Ensure the safety program, production of product, logistics of material in the production facility meet corporate guidelines.
    • Coaching and mentoring of team members
    • Ensure that all workings are manufactured in a correct, cost effective and timely manner in alignment with specifications and quality requirements
    • Contribute towards the achievement of company’s strategic and operational objectives
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
    • Administer consistently and fairly Coveris policies and procedures
