    The Opportunity: This position is responsible to support the Human Resource function in a manufacturing environment with union representation in our Tomah, Wisconsin location.   The major focus of the position will include daily HR management, talent management, recruiting to fill open positions and employee culture development. Lean manufacturing experience and the ability to maintain an atmosphere of open communication, trust and continuous improvement are vital.  

    This position reports directly to the VP US Labor Relations with a dotted line to the Plant Manager.

    Responsibilities

     Specific Responsibilities:

    • Create an environment of creditability, trust and open communication with production employees. This position is the first point of contact for input, questions, concerns and grievances.
    • Support driving the TC culture by promoting excellence and engagement through the application of the Continuous Improvement Performance System in conjunction with the Plant Leadership by way of safety, quality, delivery, productivity, continuous skills development and profitability.
    • Drive improved performance through effective communication and influencing skills.
    • Daily HR management (attendance, policies, contract administration, FMLA, HR payroll administration, benefit administration, leave of absence administration, personnel filing, etc.)
    • Track and act upon Key HR Metrics through policy deployment.
    • Talent management and employee culture development including performance management and appraisal processes and implementation of annual survey action items to improve culture.
    • Developmental coaching and counseling to employees at all levels.
    • Ensure compliance of corporate policies and procedures.
    • Effectively recruit and hire “top talent” into the organization ensuring key roles are filled and a talent pipeline established.
    • Organize plant wide celebrations and employee recognition programs

    Qualifications

    Desired Skills and Experience:

    • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in the Human Resources field
    • 4 year degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or other related field
    • Comprehensive knowledge of the legislation and regulations
    • Strong customer service orientation, with a high degree of professionalism and diplomacy
    • A sense of urgency with strong results orientation and the ability to communicate it
    • Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.) skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication, including solid presentation and facilitation skills
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment, handling multiple priorities simultaneously
    • Keen attention to detail
