  • Overview

    The Assistant Plant Controller provides financial leadership to the plant facility. The Assistant Plant Controller will be responsible for financial transactions including A/P, A/R, payroll, month end closing including cost and inventory related entries, and maintaining a control environment that complies with the company’s internal policies. The Assistant Plant Controller is responsible for growth and development of an accounting team. This position will back up the Plant Controller as necessary.


    Financial and Reporting

      • Responsible for the plant’s monthly closing process in conjunction with the Accounting team
      • Assists with financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes with focus on Sales, Cost of goods sold, EBITDA, Working Capital and Free Cash flow
      • Responsible for researching and explaining variances
      • Reports productivity improvement and key metrics
      • Assists with capital payback calculations/ROIs
      • Reviews work order variances
      • Responsible for updating manufacturing standards as necessary
      • Responsible for balance sheet reconciliations
    • Leads/coordinates various audits


    Driving Plant and Operational Results

    • Participates in the development and reporting of operational objectives for the plant that are aligned to strategic objectives
    • Provides in-depth analysis on variances and productivity improvements
    • Provides capital investment analysis, and risk analysis to drive business decisions
    • Develops and creates a world class team

    Job Requirements:

    • Travel – 15% or less


    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or relevant discipline a must
    • 7 years of accounting or finance experience including 3-5 years directly in a manufacturing environment
    • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated analytical ability accompanied by knowledge of manufacturing costing principles—understands P&L and balance sheet dynamics
    • MBA/MS preferred; CPA designation a plus
    • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen practices a plus
